Young Foundations Fostering provides fostering care for children and young people who require a specialised and homely environment from which they can grow and mature with confidence.

Young Foundations Fostering delivers a comprehensive training and supervision programme to our foster carers enabling them to provide a structured and stable environment for the people in their care, complemented by continuous emotional and supervisory support that gives them the strength and confidence to deliver quality fostering care.

Young Foundations Fostering carers are focussed on providing the following:

• Day-to-day care for the children or young people being looked after while having regard to the particular demands and difficulties experienced by youngsters separated from their own families

• Taking an active part in devising and implementing the child/young person’s Care Plan, which will include specific tasks and contact arrangements

• Promoting the healthy growth and development of the child/young person, with particular regard to their physical and mental health and educational achievement

• Ensuring the child/young person being looked after is encouraged in developing a positive understanding of their origins, religion, culture and language

• Assisting in developing and sustaining positive relationships between the child/young person, those around them with parental responsibility and others who are significant in the child’s life

• Enabling and preparing the child/young person who is moving on to other carers, or to independence, to do so in a positive way

• Providing a warm and caring placement, which is anti-discriminatory, values diversity and prepares the child/young person for life in a multi-cultural society
